Film Location
Manton Lodge Farm is also available as a film location. Whilst the house itself has rooms that would most probably be too small for interior filming, the original exterior is that of a 17th century stone farmhouse with recent extensions built in the same stone. The 20 acres around the house offer well-kept grass fields, planted copses, cross country fences, horses, a large riding arena, three stables, a kitchen garden and a small, beautiful, terraced garden leading down to a cool, discreet area by a pond with fabulous views across the Chater Valley.
Accommodation for Film Crews
Manton Lodge Farm has provided accommodation for production filming in the area in recent years and understands that this can require comings and goings and unusual times of the day/night. Ismael Merchant stayed at Manton Lodge Farm for a month for the filming of 'The Golden Bowl' at Burghley House in Lincolnshire during which time Uma Thurman came for piano lessons on the Grand Piano in the drawing room. The house was also fully occupied by crew for the two weeks that the 'Four Feathers' was filming at Burley-on-the-Hill. Aswell as providing accommodation we are also happy to offer information on local help, services, hire shops, hospitals, restaurants and other accommodation.
